Project Duration: August 2007 – June 2010.

The Government of Bhutan is keen to promote good governance by reducing exiting corruption in the country in order to improve management of resources at the district level as well as frontline service delivery.  The implementation of good governance and anticorruption measures is expected to manage resources efficiently and effectively towards the development of Bhutan.  The main objectives of the project are to:

-strengthen the institutional capacity of selected governance and anticorruption agencies in Bhutan to help them better fulfill their statutory mandates;

-raise awareness and skills at the district and local levels on how to improve management of resources and to adhere to the various requirements and guidelines (e.g., on procurement) that emanate from the center; and

– contribute to good governance, including enhanced service delivery in Bhutan.
