Narayani River Bridge

Project duration: January 1973 – January 1985. (Devtec Nepal joined this project since January 1983)

The longest of four major bridges on an 80 km long highway construction project under construction in south Nepal. The 420 m long structure uses precast pre-stressed concrete girders with concrete bridge deck supported by single column peirs. Caissons were used to deal with difficult river and foundation conditions. High rivers velocity up to 6m\sec during occurring during monsoon periods called careful scour protection. Erection technique used steel launching truss.
