Project duration: May 1995 – June 1995.

USAID had provided assistance to HMG/Nepal to develop and strengthen the forest and forest related activities in Nepal.  The main objective was to protect the forest resources and conservation through an advance and practical method.  The concept of private forestry, community forestry, lease forest holdings and management training, workshops were conducted to HMG/Nepal staffs rangers and members of forest user’s Groups/Committees.

Assist and facilitate USAID in a 7 days community forestry User’s training cum workshops program held simultaneously at Pokhara (for the participants of western region) and at Tulsipur, Dang (for participant of mid-Western Development Region).

A total of 175 participants from different Forest Communities including the members of forest users’ groups and rangers participated in the training cum workshop.
